Undersided is based on Undertale by Toby Fox. This page details exactly how Undertale pertains to Undersided.
Localization
[edit | edit source]Undertale is taken as a Western localization of whatever the "real" version of its story in Undersided is. As a result, in Undersided, several names are different from in Undertale.

Additionally, character designs are reworked to exclude explicitly Western elements, and various things like "anime" are reinterpreted as in-universe counterparts. Note that anything Undertale states that diverges from the Western default will be retained, as it is hinting at in-universe cultural elements.
Additionally, the setting tries to avoid the use of the terms "monster" and "magic", opting for "yaref" and rephrasing the mention of magic in in-universe terms.
Route
[edit | edit source]Undersided presents a fixed timeline, while Undertale is all about choices - thus, a "canonical" route for Undersided has had to have been devised. This goes over everything relevant in file0 and undertale.ini.
TL;DR, Undersided includes the Soulless Pacifist route, where Frisk fought Mad Mew Mew, did not flirt with Toriel or Papyrus, and did not encounter Glyde, So Sorry, or any Fun event.
