Alfi-Niv
Alfi-Niv Alfizo, or often simply Alfi-Niv, Dr. Alfizo, or Alfi, was the Royal Scientist of Yarzon-Ebott from 246 X to 251 X (908 SR to 913 SR), during which time she made contributions to the study of determination and SOULs.
History
[edit | edit source]Alfi-Niv was born in 221 X. One of her parents also went by "Alfi". Alfi-Niv has lived in Hotland for most of her life. At a young age, she demonstrated significant intelligence even for her type. In 227 X, she began to come over to Gaster's lab in order to assist with the construction of the CORE and other projects, and in 229 X, she met Arfia-hin shortly after his appearance. She and Arfia would become close friends, and it was this that led to her pursuing science as an adult. She worked as a member of Royal Sciences for several years before being appointed as Royal Scientist in 246 X. Popular legend states that she had presented Merabor's body as an automaton with an artificial SOUL.
During her time as Royal Scientist, she experimented on several yarov who had "fallen down", by injecting them with determination extracted from the human SOULs Ruaeli had gathered. The yarov woke up, but after the point where they would have died, their bodies broke down, merging into vague, amorphous beings composed of multiple overlapping yarov called "amalgamates". This led to extreme guilt on Alfi's part, she kept the amalgamates hidden, and her research would slow down immensely afterwards. Around the same time, she also created Bejburi, accidentally reincarnating Ondeli in the process. The results of her experiments were not revealed until 5 years later when they were shown to Ana-hin and the amalgamates were freed. This coincided with the barrier being broken.
