Mindforms are a concept found in Panavic and related cultures, where neurotypes are split into categories which are used as an axis by which to set roles and expectations for groups of people. In this way, they serve a similar role to gender (although gender still exists in Panavic cultures) but more grounded in actual behaviors. Some examples include the appointment of people with anxiety disorders to places where possible risks of actions or scenarios must be carefully considered, or the preference for sociopaths as generals, given that they are people that would not mind the cruelty of war. However, this also generalizes beyond what English-speakers think of as neurodivergences - for example, the phantasia spectrum is a strong example of a categorization axis which Panavic culture uses to divide up responsibility among its people. Often, to ensure safe being, people with complementary mindforms are paired together to avoid overwhelming nonfunctionality (such as in the given case with anxiety disorders). The role of mindforms in Panavic society has resulted in Panavis falling strongly on the "nature" side of the nature vs. nurture debate. In Panavic mythology, mindforms are associated with differing interactions between the urbax and its host being. Emergent problems with mindforms include the fact that many individuals with depression are funneled into militaries rather than being supplied with treatment (due to their extremely low self-worth), and Panavic instutitions' inability to handle violently obsessive individuals - as suitable roles for such a person are rare and fleeting, largely dependent on the significance of the target of obsession, Panavic society often shrugs and shoves them into pairings with each other even if they are not the targets of each other's obsession. As a result of the salience of mindforms in Panavic culture, Panavic language generally has root words for mindforms as kinds of people, with derived adjective and quality forms, like the English word 'psychopath' and unlike 'autistic'.
