Automata

An automaton is any inorganic, artificial structure that imitates a sapient being such as a human. They are described as being made of "metal and magic". Recent automata (as of 913 SR) are sapient enough to develop SOULs, though most well-known cases (such as Axis) are significantly more simplistic. Some are simply bodies for ghosts such as Merabor to inhabit.

Development notes

The term "robot" from Undertale is not used in Undersided. This is because the creator consistently uses "robot" in the sense of the robots from R.U.R. in their other works, a concept which is not present in Undersided.
